Wix air, oil, and cabin air filters are my go to. I get them in bulk from rock auto. I usually fill with mid grade gas, buying premium is usually more than a dollar over regular per gallon and it does not make up for it in better mileage. The new gen 4 coyote is not e85, they have no yellow indicator and do not have the ability to account for it. The gen 3 coyotes, between 2018? Or 2020 to 2023 had some oil burning issues due to the cylinder walls and mismatched pistons. It happened when they changed factories from Germany to the US. The transmissions prior to the 2023 update have a high rate of failure. Post 2023 they fixed them. My recommendations for trucks is to go with a 2024 or later model of whatever sort you're looking for, they have the gen 4 coyote, the fixed 10r80, and a refreshed design for the bumpers, headlights, and all the computers.
I watched a YouTube video and got a reusable air filter from K&N
i have no other power mods, just a plain k&n drop in air filter and you can feel the power difference big time over stock. noticeably quicker.
I've had one for years and no issues. Just oil it correctly. Also, watch engineering explained video on it and it does add some power. Not much. And I don't have any mpg gains.
I would recommend a K&N cloth filter. They can be cleaned and re-oiled about every 50K miles. They never need to be replaced.
I put one on my 08 , it's good but it throws check engine lights on me.
k&n drop in air filter because why not.
Not worth it at all. It’ll allow more dirt in your engine for zero power gain.
KN avoid them they allow to much dirt to pass through, if you want higher quality go AFE Dry Pro.
Reusable K&N filters very marginally improve performance at the cost of allowing more dust and other particles into your engine. OEM paper filters or other reputable ones like WIX do a much better job of actually cleaning the air.
