Water pump

Owner reviews for water pump

Manufacturers
OEM Volvo Water pump

The original water pump will most likely last the entire lifespan of the car. The only water pumps that fail are the aftermarket ones. If you still feel the need to replace it, I would only recommend an oem pump.

Pros: long lifespan, reliable
Cons: aftermarket pumps fail

I checked the old water pump and took it out by removing the front plate of the engine... The old water pump moves fine but it does make a squeaking noise and is quite old however it does move.

Cons: squeaking noise, quite old

OEM FORD Water pump

The 3.5 engine is garage with this design. Had an Edge from new and out 150,000 miles on it in 13 years. I was always dreading this failure and luckily dodged it before selling it.

Cons: poor design, dreaded failure

OEM FORD Water pump

Awful design by Ford to put the water pump inside the engine. I almost bought one of these used a few years ago, but backed out after reading about 3-4k jobs to replace a water pump at 180-100k miles.

Cons: awful design, expensive replacement
Vehicle: Ford
