Just finished a canyon run on new Falken RT615K+ Auto-X/ street tires on OEM Austins. Cons are a harsher ride and low life-expectancy that comes with 200TW tires. Pro's are sharpened steering and tread noise that actually is not all that bad. And once they warm up they're absolutely tenacious, with more grip than one will ever need on the street and a progressive break-away at the limit.

Pros: sharpened steering, tenacious grip
Cons: harsher ride, low life

MICHELIN Tires

Went with Michelin Latitude X-ice in stock 18\" size, on Sport Edition F5 wheels. Package from Tire Rack - they come mounted and balanced at not charge, and Michelin had a $70 rebate on 4 tires. Wish we'd had more snow this year! In the little we had they worked very well.

Pros: worked very well

I've been recommended Achilles ATR Sport 2 by literally all of my friends. I've had Pilot Super Sports before, and the Achilles handle extremely similar while intense driving. I'd say they last just as long as well.

Pros: similar to Pilot Super
Mileage: 4000 km

My setup is Firehawk Indy 500s on stock Austin wheels. 225/40/18s. In terms of performance, the tires have been about as good as I could expect on the road. Turn-in feel is excellent, road noise is subdued, and the comfort is good. There is still some wheelspin off the line, but for the price the tires are excellent.

Pros: excellent turn-in feel
Cons: some wheelspin
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Kumho Tires

Go with the Khumo. They’re a reputable brand. I’ve heard of some people having issues with the warranty. My personal first hand; they were a great performing tire. I rode mine hard though. So they only lasted about a year and half. It was the MT.

Pros: great performing tire
Cons: short lifespan

Kumho Tires

Kumho is a well known brand compared to the rest. I'd do kumho solus before any of them.

GENERAL TIRE Tires

I have a set on my cummins, 30k miles and still a lot of life, great in snow, on road, light trail use. The treads don't clear as easy as I would like.

Pros: great in snow, on road
Cons: treads don't clear easy
Mileage: 48280 km

I drove about 8k miles on a set of RS-Rs. They ride fairly stiff and produce a hum. Wet traction actually not bad at all. Dry performance was obviously exemplary.

Pros: dry performance exemplary
Cons: ride fairly stiff
Mileage: 12875 km

I just put on the Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 2s and the ride and noise level on these are absolutely fantastic for a discount tire. Rain performance is bleh though. I would recommend them for a car you don't corner with every time. Now let's see how long this quiet ride lasts...

Pros: fantastic ride, quiet
Cons: rain performance bleh

NANKANG Tires

I ran Nankangs for a while, they were fine as long as it was dry, which it is only 10% of the time here. Slipped in slides all over in the wet.

Pros: fine when dry
Cons: slipped in wet
