Not a BMW owner, but it completely eliminated oil consumption in my 100K mile Volkswagen EA888Gen3 engine. One quart was disappearing every 1500 miles or so. Now the dipstick doesn't change at all between 5K mile oil changes. I add it with every other oil change to Mobil1 5W-40 Euro.
Owner reviews for oil additives
CRC oil additive for me works best.
I’ve had great luck with Liquid-Moly additives to reseal & decrease oil consumption. Really great product. Doesn’t work for everything, but it’s worth a shot.
my 2011 was consuming 1L every 1600km, especially on highway / hilly drives. it got a new short block / rings replaced at 90k under warranty, and it still consumes 1/2L. i recently switched over to Valvoline R&P, but am only on my second oil change with the stuff. on a long, hot, mountainous 8000km roadtrip last month it only consumed 1/3L per 1600km. i wasn’t expecting immediate results from R&P, so holding out hope that consumption continues to drop.
Valvoline Restore/Protect cleaned all the black gunk out under my oil cap after 6 oil change cycles.
Motorovy olej aditivum:
LIQUI MOLY 1015 MOLYGEN Ochrana
Or just buy Mannol ester additive and add to whatever semi syn oil of your choice. At least it give plenty of time for the engine oil to clean in 7k km.
I 've been changing the oil at 1000 miles first, after break in,on every new car i've owned since 1982(bought 20 new cars & trucks) without ever having an engine issue with any vehicle that i have owned. After that, depending on your driving habits, 3-5K internals. *Liquid Moly Engine Flush *Liquid Moly 0W-30 Premium Synthetic *Liquid Moly Ceratec oil additive
Almost every vehicle I've put Lucas oil additives (stabilizer mostly) into smoke for a little bit... then it goes away.
They tried some sort of "VW approved motor restore oil additive" about 200 miles ago but it didn't help and may have made things a little worse.
