I know often time the ignition switch will go out, and headlights won't work when that happens, along with the wipers and a few other things.

I recently had to replace mine, so I unplugged the old one, plugged in the new one (Meyle brand), turned it over with a flathead screwdriver and it fired right up. So I installed it and tried again but this time had no start. Went through a lot of troubleshooting only to find out the new ignition switch was bad.
