Since I'm replying -- have noticed 0 oil consumption on my Mk8 in the last two years.

I’ve been running it for years, no valve train noise. It’s a convention base, so you need to stick with a 3k mile OCI.

Used this for my old Alterra that made it to 250k mileage. Good budget option.

I would order Shell Helix for £20/4L online instead.

Go for 0W-20 from any reputed imported brand. I personally prefer Profi Car as I’ve had and continue having a great experience with it.

I run Liqui Moly High Tech 5W40 here in Texas. Been running it since my maintenance plan ran out.

Motul 8100 X Clean 5W30, used by reputable specialist Mini garages here in the UK and is in my 2018 JCW.

8100 X-Clean EFE is what I ran, but yeah, it doesn't really matter

2000s Toyotas. Not really unreliable, but oil burning was an issue on most of these because people did not change the oil on time.
