I love my rancho 5000s but used bilstiens on bigger trucks in the past and those do their job well still

I got some Ranchos on my 88 which have been great so far. Had them about 2 years, but I don’t go off-road, or at least hardcore anyway. They’re nice and firm
I installed Rancho RS9000XL on my 2018. The struts come pre-assembled with a 2” level. The level of damping has 9 levels of adjustment to dial in your desired ride quality. I really liked them a lot. Definitely improved the ride quality over the factory Ranchos. Got ride of the rear end hop.
I'm really happy with them. They have eight adjustable settings both the front and the rear for preload and dampening. Otherwise my feelings about the Rancho shocks have been very favorable and the ride quality is at least equal to original factory with some adjustability for when I want to tow or go off-road and I like that.
Rancho RS5000x are about $200 for a set of 4 and they are a much better product than Skyjacker hydros. Highly recommend them.
I put Rancho 7000? Mono tubes on our 2010 and 5100s on our 2012. Both our great and will last 100k miles.
Rancho shocks are for off-road style ride. Will absorb heavy impacts and be stiff on the pavement.
Man I don’t know how Rancho started being marketed as a desirable shock. They used to be cheap autozone replacement stuff. I had a ZR-2 Blazer years ago that came with factory Bilsteins, when they were worn out and shot I replaced them with Ranchos… I should have just left the blown Bilsteins on lol.
I put these Rancho RS9000XL Shocks on in 2018 on my 2007 Xterra. I've only put about 20K miles on since. Very disappointed in both the quality and the soft ride they provided. I put on Bilstein 5100s, so far they feel much better.
Bought my truck new and my ranchos were already leaking. So my opinion on them are not high.
