If you opt for replacement I run yokohama Geolander A/T G015’s on my 2014 xc70. They are wonderful tires for mixed use driving. I live in a dirt road but also have a long highway commute and the Yokohamas have been the best tire I’ve found for both surfaces.
I bought Yokohama yk gtx from Discoumt tire. I have about 5k on them and they’ve been excellent so far.
I'm using continental extreme summers or some name similar to that. Good grip, good price, doesn't last any longer than any performance tire on these tire shredding vehicles.
I would recommend Firestone Destinations or Yokohama Geolandars. I’ve seen them go pretty well.
Get some continentals, love those tires
Just got some Continental CrossContact LX25 and so far they’re great! Smooth, quiet and have been excellent in wet weather.
If your roads get plowed and you’ll only deal with 2” of snow at most, then the DWS06+ or Pilot AS4 are the way to go. The DWS handle wet a lot better than the AS4. The AS4 handles dry a little bit better than the DWS, and rides a bit better.
Really liked the Toyo Observe. Micheline X-Ice and Bridgestone Blizzaks are highly rated. Since we just got into an Atlas, I ended up picking up a set of OEM wheels and Continental Viking Contact 7 tires just last week. Found a set on Facebook that were one year old. Continental seems to have good ratings but am not sure how they will compare to the Toyo I am used to.
Getting back to reliability, the one thing that all the forums agree on is that the OEM Continental ProContact TX 245/35R20 on the SEL-P R-Line is vulnerable to just about anything.
BEWARE: Failed Yokohama Stock Tire. Ive seen other posts about similar blowouts from primes but didn't pay too much attention since I planned on eventually switching wheels anyways. but this just happened driving 70 on the freeway. They are the stock Yokohama's that came with my 22 Prime.
