Tires Toyo or Pirelli

Pirelli Tires

Last week I replaced the ecopia OEM on my 2021 cx9 CE to pirelli scorpions at $258 per tire. The Pirelli’s are great so far. I’m also getting better FE. Almost 1.5mpg more than what I got on ecopias

Pros: great tires, better fuel economy
Vehicle: Mazda

I personally went with C load with the Toyo AT’s. Came from BFG AT E load. No regrets. Not apples to apples, but between those two the Toyo in C was SIGNIFICANTLY softer in ride quality which was comfy both on and off road. Made daily commuting, long road trips, and off roading (especially on washboard) much more tolerable.

Pros: softer ride quality

I bought Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3’s, squared up at 235/55R/19. They are rated for 60,000 miles, are noticeably quieter than the original Allenzas and ride better too.

Also, after 4,000 miles I have seen no reduction in range/efficiency.

Pros: quieter than original, better ride
Cons: none
Mileage: 4000 km

Late to the party, but I’m 50k into my 215/75r15s and either going with toyos again in 225/75 or falken wildpeaks. I’ve been very happy with the toyos in CO weather and dry backcountry. Not a ton of mud experience to help you with but the toyos have been GREAT on everything! Road noise it so be expected with AT tires but the toyos were/are not very noisy at all.

Pros: GREAT on everything
Cons: slight sidewall tear
Mileage: 50000 km

The AS+3s while decent in the snow, are very quiet and smooth, they just soak up mile after mile and have great wet and dry traction.

Pros: quiet and smooth, great traction
Cons: decent in snow
Vehicle: Toyota

The 3s are a little louder but nothing too noticeable unless you commute in silence. They look great and perform just as great in any weather condition, asphalt or not.

Pros: great in any weather
Cons: a little louder

I've had these for four summer seasons on my GSW (17" version) and about 15k miles total. Very grippy. They were great until this past summer, and generally quiet, but one developed a defect whereby it's making a loud rhythmic thumping noise at low speed.

Pros: very grippy, generally quiet
Cons: developed a defect, thumping noise
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 24140 km

The Pirelli p zeros on my m sport 330e has been a nightmare. I swapped them out at least 3x in two years (live in NYC with lots of potholes).

Cons: nightmare, swapped out 3x
