Tires Pirelli or Nokia

Nokia Tires

For a guy who lives in Finnish coast. We used Nokian since it is local, but other brands and models that I often see are Michelin X Ice and Michelin studded tyre variant, Continental Viking Contact or its studded variant, lastly Goodyear Ultragrip Ice or its studded variant.

My work van has the Nokian Remedy WR G5 after coming off of Toyo Celsius (yeah, never going down the Toyo road again with a passenger all-weather tire, at least in the foreseeable future), so far they have been solid and performed well this fall, much quieter and more stable than the Toyos...

Pros: much quieter, more stable

Im a high mileage driver 80k per year for work driving across Canadian Prairies and into Rocky mountains and I take the Nokian R5 every winter. You get -40 black ice roads with high cross winds in a tall minivan and never hit the ditch or gotten into accident with them. Handles deep snow with 0 issues too.

Pros: Handles deep snow, high mileage
Mileage: 80000 km

I have the Pirellis on my car and the Generals on my small SUV. Honestly, I like both of them although the SUV goes on dedicated winter tires while the car stays on the Pirellis year around and just stays parked on bad snow days. The ride quality on both is great although the Pirellis may be just a little quieter overall. Tread wear on each has been negligible over a year now so hasn’t been a concern. I used to have OEM Michelins on the SUV which quickly wore out of course and Bridgestones on the car which while a good tire had a very harsh ride quality. The next time I replace tires I’d have no hesitation going with either the Generals or the Pirellis, it will probably come down to which is a better deal at the time.

Pros: great ride quality
Cons: Michelins wore out quickly

I'm running a set of Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season tires. They've been really great in dry and wet, and were priced very reasonably.

Pros: great in dry and wet

I run wrg4’s for winters and their decent. They’re not loud and they’re fine in the dry and wet. Snow and ice they could better. Not as good as a full winter but better than all seasons.

Pros: fine in dry and wet
Cons: could be better snow/ice
