Switched to CrossClimates from Defenders. They are unequivocally better.
Have a set of X-ice for the winter. Can't go wrong with Michelin's.
The Defender LTXs have been great on my Highlander. Nice ride, quiet, good traction, long wearing too.
I have the defenders on my 2017, I have had them for 2 years and didn't put my snows on. They are a good all season tire and aren't noisy
The second day I owned my '22 Highlander, I swapped out the OEM tires for the Michelin Defenders. They are by far my favorite tires. I live way out in the country on a dirt road that doesn't get plowed for hours after a snow storm. These are truly year round tires and I don't have any problems in six inches of snow. I can't rate them high enough. Just fantastic tires.
I’ve had very good experience with Michelin Defenders. They are a good quality tire and I would highly recommend. If you live in a snowy state, they do fantastic in the snow.
We're almost a year later and I did end up getting the PS5, very impressed by the tire so far, and since the tire allowed it I ended up driving the car in conditions that I wouldn't have had I gotten a more extreme tire, I really thought I just wouldn't even want to drive it in shit weather, but turns out I did want to and having tires that didn't allow would suck. Dry grip is impressive, I've driven Pzero and other tires that are supposed to be premium and sporty, but that didn't feel THAT much better over just a good quality but standard level tire. But these are a very noticeable step up, to the point that when you want to get squirrely the extra grip really shows as they're much harder to break loose. Wet gry is really good and overall they seem to be pretty progressive. We'll see for track days hopefully later this year.
Michelin Defender LTX M/S. They are silky smooth on the highway and very capable off-road. The downside is, they don't have an aggressive look, if that's what you're going for.
They’re meh, I went from having Michelin crossclimates on my 2010 to the OEM tires on my new OB. They do OK in snow, good in rain.
My newish Michelin Defenders did that.
