Tires Kumho or OEM FORD

Kumho Tires

That said, I’ve had a good experience with the discount tire house branded “Rocky Mountain” tires. They’re 3 peak rated M/S tires. And road noise is not bad at all. I don’t even hear it. I have about 15k on them over the last year or so.

Pros: road noise is low
Vehicle: Toyota
Mileage: 15000 km

Just bought these at America's Tire (same company as Discount Tire) and couldn't be more happy with their service and the tires. Better than the Kumhos and the car doesn't shudder any more when coming to a stop on loose ground. Ours was 30 minutes away and worth it.

Pros: better than Kumhos
Cons: car doesn't shudder

I switched my '25 Turbo to the Kumho Crugen HP71's and am very happy with the increased sound insulation and performance. Much better in rain than the Toyos I had (which developed a giant bump on the side wall 3k miles in).

Pros: increased sound insulation
Cons: Toyos developed bump
Mileage: 3000 km

This is new release from Kumho, so reviews were sparse with the exception of one from Germany. I have about 500 mi on the tires, they are awesome! I can get traction now WOT in 1st, they have a stiffer sidewall which makes them responsive and planted in corners. Further, the ride is quiet and smooth which is important to me for a DD.

Pros: responsive, planted in corners
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 805 km

I've had the previous Kumho Ecsta Sport on a different car for budgetary reasons. They were great for a few months, but I felt like they lost a ton of grip after 10k miles or so. Longevity was my only complaint, but it was for my daily so even without a ton of grip, I'd consider them a good buy for value.

Pros: good buy for value
Cons: lost grip after 10k
Mileage: 16093 km

I am considering replacing my Kumho Crugen tires KL33 (30k miles) with Falkin wildpeak a/t trail tires on my 2018 Santa Fe AWD. The current tires seem okay but I have never really pushed them.

Pros: okay in Florida
Cons: poor snow performance
Mileage: 48280 km
Part number: KL33

I am super sensitive to sound so road noise is a priority for me. I also had a ****ty experience with the Goodyear Comfortdrives on my Sienna and think those might have been part of why I hated that thing. They got stupid loud and rough riding with more mileage. Similar experience with the RSAs that came on my TLX. Never buying Goodyear again. I dont know how much heavy lifting the car is doing but the Kuhmo Crugers on my ID4 have been dead quiet after nearly 10K miles. They seem to be wearing OK as well. I have no idea how they will do in snow and I'm pretty sure they suck traction wise. But it might be worth looking into EV tires. Low rolling resistance should equate to low noise, though I can't speak to ride quality. ID4's ride is a little choppy but I do keep pressures up for more efficiency. It smooths out on the highway so it might be a German suspension thing.

Pros: dead quiet, wearing OK
Cons: suck traction wise
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 10000 km

Stay away from Kumho tires, I’m just a Dad with a Sienna for the family, but I had a Honda Fit I drove 4 miles to the office for work. Got a pair of Kumho 80k rated, thought would be the last I’d have to buy. Worn out at barely 21k on them, on a Fit that don’t weigh much more than a lawnmower.

Cons: worn out quickly
Vehicle: Honda Fit
Mileage: 21000 km
