Continental Extreme Contact for winter and Goodyear Eagle Sport all season. Was expecting to remove the seasonal tires but have not done so in last 2 years. Seventy percent highway/ thirty city. Very good tire in snow and ice. Was not expecting that. Benefits: gas mileage up about 50km per tank, better handling on pavement (less mushy on highway) due to less sipes in tread. Great handling less body roll, crisp cornering.
I have Firestone Winterforce tires on 15" Forester wheels for the winter set and Goodyear Assurance all seasons on 16" impreza wheels for summer tires.
Goodyear Supercar 3 needs the most heat. The stickiest of the three. Good trackable street tire.
Goodyear Assurance Triple-tread tires (really love these in the snow/wet, great daily tires!)
Good Year Nordics from Canadian Tire. I loved them, good price, great in slush and deep snow, and Can Tire has a pretty good tire warranty.
I've had Goodyear Assurance before but I had Comfort Tread not the fuel saver ones. I would buy again, they were quiet, good traction, stayed round, held air, etc.
My guess would be that NASCAR tires are on the very hard end of the F1 tyre spectrum with the cornering loads/weight that NASCAR has in comparison.
They were pretty good but after I replaced them with the Falken wildpeak AT3/W and those were better performing and a far better bang for the buck.
Goodyear.
Vw has used crappy American Goodyear Eagle LS-2 back on the mk4 and b6 passat days. So crappy VW issues a TSB for abnormal wear rates.
