Tires Falken or Maxxis

Falken Tires

Thus far, I'm happy with the Falken tires in 205/60-16 that came on my car. I'm not shy to take turns at higher speeds than everyone around me and these aren't giving me much to complain about so far. I am surprised! Did well in a big rain fall.

Pros: good in rain, good handling

I have had very good luck with Falken tires on my Mercedes cars. Lots of tread warranty etc Also, some of the BFGoodrich (Owned by Michelin - I think) tires are good.

Pros: Lots of tread warranty

I have Falken FK510s on my car (2008 Si on 18" Wheels) and i like them. I've you they have excellent grip in both wet and dry conditions and noise levels are good to. I like them better then the ventus evo 12's that came on my car when i got it. It's a very good tire for the money, I definitely recommend them.

Pros: excellent grip, good noise
Vehicle: Honda Civic

I've owned both. The Evo is okay, but terrible in the wet and a little noisy. The 510 is a shockingly good tire for Falken. I definitely recommend those.

Pros: shockingly good tire
Cons: terrible in the wet

On my Stormchasing truck, which ran into rain now and then, we used Falken Rocky Mountain ATS tires, which were the Discounttire exclusive name, now they are sold as the Wildpeak AT. I loved them on washed out ranch roads in Texas and mud/dirt roads in Colorado and when we were bombing down the highway they were pretty quiet, much quieter than the Duratracs I had on my old Liberty.

Pros: pretty quiet, decent
Vehicle: Ford
Mileage: 52000 km

Just finished a canyon run on new Falken RT615K+ Auto-X/ street tires on OEM Austins. Cons are a harsher ride and low life-expectancy that comes with 200TW tires. Pro's are sharpened steering and tread noise that actually is not all that bad. And once they warm up they're absolutely tenacious, with more grip than one will ever need on the street and a progressive break-away at the limit.

Pros: sharpened steering, tenacious grip
Cons: harsher ride, low life

I bought some Falken Ziex ZE-912s for my Magny Cours because I was hoping to sell my car and I needed something inexpensive. Turns out, they're a pretty good tire. The sidewall is too soft on them for something that claims high performance, but they do grip really well. The suck in the snow however, so I wouldn't depend on them for that (despite their all-season claim).

Pros: good grip, inexpensive
Cons: soft sidewall, bad in snow
Part number: ZE-912S

No experience with the Yoko's, but i've had about 5 sets of 512's and they don't last long, even with a good alignment.

Pros: good stretch
Cons: don't last long
Vehicle: BMW
