Tires Continental or FEDERAL

I'm based in Toronto, Canada, and I have two sets of wheels for my 2024 GTI. The summer set consists of 17 inch wheels with Conti Extreme Contact II tires. These are pure summer tires, very quiet and excellent traction.

I have continental tires after the OEMs needed replacement-

Very happy with them - mileage etc no change that I can see - quieter also

Just got a set. Much quieter than stock conti 19 with 32k on em. My wife’s jaw dropped when she heard the new tire road noise levels difference. Very smooth not overly rigid at all. Would gladly buy again. Don’t hesitate

I bought Continental Extreme Contacts because they were a little cheaper and aren't supposed to wear as quickly as the Michelins, and the difference is tenfold.

Four years ago I bought a set of continental contipro contacts for my E90. $1200. They are still in good shape with plenty of tread. More than 50%.

I’d go for gp5000. Lasts *way* longer, is probably similarly fast and has great puncture resistance.

Continental cross contact lx25 ????, but also keep your weather conditions in mind.

Continental VikingContact 7s are my recommendation. I get an average of 4m of snow, where I live, every winter, and these tires have never let me down. And they're incredibly refined at highway speeds.

Federal tires are cheap and good. I use Michelin PS4 but on wet paint they're almost useless.

the procontact rx are pure garbage in snow. had to dig out the car when we first got it. if you need snow tires, swap them now.
