My 14' outback burned 1-2qts between oil changes based on driving (lots of short trips or visits to the mountains burned more.) Never had any blue smoke on startup or during driving.

Down to .5-1 qt low after 5000 miles now.

Pros: reduced oil consumption
Cons: moderate acceleration knock
Mileage: 5000 km

OEM Mazda Engine oil

Mazda says every 7500 miles for normal duty OCI, and I’ve done every 7500 miles since brand new on my 2014 3z.

It’s now at 187k flawless miles, consumes no oil *at all* (I’ve literally never had to add oil beaten changes, ever, what goes in comes out every time), runs like new, seems easily headed to 250k.

Pros: consumes no oil
Vehicle: Mazda 3
Mileage: 300967 km

I would and have used Mobil 1 0w20 or 0w30 in my CX 5 . During the first 36k miles ,I used Idemitsu 0w20 and a Mazda filter . After the warranty period ,I used Mobil 1 ,mostly because the Idemitsu price went way up. I may be wrong ,but I believe that Idemitsu is the Mazda branded engine oil . 5000k mile intervals .

Pros: used Mobil 1, 5000k intervals
Cons: Idemitsu price went up
Vehicle: Mazda 5
Mileage: 5000 km

Eu uso o mobil, mas vc pode usar o motul. Veja a especificação do óleo. O motul e o mobil são caros. O o Ipiranga e o Shell são mais em conta. O lubrax não recomendo. Por experiência melhor mesmo os dois que falei, motul e Mobil

Pros: melhor experiência
Cons: motul e mobil caros

Rating 3.5

I found Mobil 1 0W-40 to allow a lot more timing chain and lifter noise, especially at startup but even after, then switched to Castrol Edge 5W-40 and the noise suddenly wasn't there. I've used it ever since.

Pros: noise reduced with Castrol
Cons: more timing chain noise
