Last change I did I switched to liquimoli 5-40 and I used a can of Cera tec. Noticed a bit of quieting from the engine after a few miles of circulation and after nearly 5k miles I'm only down mayyybe 1/4 QT. So far so good at 131,000

Pros: bit of quieting
Cons: down 1/4 QT
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 5000 km

Molygen (the green stuff) is recommended by Liquimoly for VW 502, but it does not actually have official approval from VW for the 502 spec. Just something to be aware of. I buy the liquimoly leichtlauf which has the official approval from VW.

Pros: official approval from VW
Cons: no official approval

LIQUI MOLY Engine oil

I live on the west coast and use 5w40 LiquiMoly from NAPA @ $36/5 Lt. It made my CF life go from replacing every 10k miles to getting nearly 20k miles/CF.

Pros: increased lifespan
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 10000 km

I've run somewhere between half a dozen and a dozen oils over the last few years with oil analyses for all of them and both the analyses as well as my own personal observations favor the LM by a bit over other high quality full synthetics offered by Motul, Redline, etc. Specifically you want this one: https://www.amazon.com/Liqui-Moly-2332-Leichtlauf-Engine/dp/B00LIC29H6

Pros: favored by oil analyses, favored over competitors
Part number: 2332

I've doubled my cam follower life, from 10k to 20k miles, by switching to LiquiMoly 5w40...and it costs less than Castrol full syn recommended by VW.

Pros: doubled cam follower life, costs less than Castrol
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 32187 km
Part number: 5W 40

I ran the dealers Castrol for 20-30k miles. Switch to Motul and my temps went up easily 10°F, it would settle down at around 230°F. Catrol never went above 220 unless I was stuck in traffic. So Motul would creep up over 230 at times.

Then I switched to LiquiMoly Leuchteifeifafehffhefh. The oil temps better match Castrol and sit around 220F unless stuck in traffic. BUT the LiquiMoly gets up to temp much quicker than the Castrol ever did.

Pros: temps better match Castrol
Mileage: 48280 km

Everyone pushes whatever brand they use but when you're talking group 4 oils you're splitting hairs to some extent because they are premo quality. I've run them all and if I had to pick I'd probably throw my hat in for Liquimoly Leichtlauf High-Tech 5W40. That's the full synthetic version. Watch out there is a synthetic blend version they sell now, not as good.

Pros: premo quality, full synthetic
Cons: synthetic blend not as good
