I have had my set up on for about a month now. Stopping power is significantly better as well as way increased pedal feel. Bite is fantastic just with the Hawk HPS that I run on the street and even better with the DTC-30's that I run on the track.

Pros: better stopping power, increased pedal feel

OEM Porsche Brake pads

It's honestly very low maitenence, the only thing that's slightly more costly than "normal" is your oil change due to the larger volume needed for these engines. Brakes are cheap of you do them yourself, not really different than other cars though. As far as reliability is concerned, it's top-notch.

Pros: very low maintenance, top-notch reliability
Cons: oil change slightly costly

I have a clunking noise coming from my front brakes, whenever i hit a bump. This has been ruled to be the outside pad moving around in the caliper. Pretty much everything else in the front suspension has been changed, so i'm pretty sure it is the pad. Mechanic had the car yesterday and said everything looks tight as well. The car stops fine, and there's plenty of pad wear left so i'm not going to switch out the pads or anything. I was hoping someone could chime in and let me know if there's something that can be done to get rid of the "clunk", or do i just live with it. Anyone else ever have this issue? FYI, It's a 2000 Golf with Hawk HPS pads.

Pros: car stops fine, plenty of wear
Cons: clunking noise from front brakes

the increased rotor size creates a noticeable lag in acceleration and when cornering you feel the increased inertia in the steering wheel. after having this setup on my car for a year i'm going back to stock (just some drilled rotors, stainless lines and hawk pads). not a fan.

Cons: lag in acceleration
