I went with EBC RED. noticeably softer. Perfect for the street. Don't get them if you track.

Akebono Brake pads

Rating 4.0

I recently replaced my son’s pads/rotors on a 328i f30 , I used Akebono ceramic pads and Zimmermann rotors, he likes them much better than the oem because it doesn’t make much brake dust your wheels stay cleaner, he didn’t notice much difference in stopping distance, but doesn’t track the car just normal spirited driving on streets and backroads

Pros: less brake dust, cleaner wheels
Cons: no stopping distance difference
Vehicle: BMW

Bendix Brake pads

On the surface this looks fine, but w203s don't have fancy brakes. Bendix's for these are only $50-90. So they've hidden a lot of labour in that "pad" price. then they've charged you half an hour to change the discs as well. if the calipers are off the discs take about 1 minute each to change. Then did the discs really need changing? these are basic brakes. you can go 2 for 1 on discs to pads on these no problems. it may be they did need doing, but it may be they didn't. So, I'd say, it's not a rip off, compared to say a Stealer, but there is still a bit of fluff in this.

Cons: hidden labor, overpriced
Vehicle: Mercedes

TRW Brake pads

I’ve used trw and jurid pads with Zimmerman rotors and an R1 concepts kit, with their most aggressive pad compound. The TRW ceramic pads are fine, a bit noisy when cold in my experience. Jurid was the same. Zimmerman rotors warped on me in about 20k miles and the car was really only driven in the city so I, personally, wouldn’t pay the slight premium to get them.

Pros: good bite
Cons: noisy when cold, rotors warped
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 20000 km

OEM Nissan Brake pads

Had to get all brake pads done 22k miles in. Brake still makes a sound when released could be bushings but not a major enough issue yet to replace.

Cons: brake pads replaced early, brake noise
Vehicle: Nissan Pathfinder
Mileage: 22000 km

Duralast Brake pads

Same issue here. I replaced the pads twice with the same brand (Duralast Gold), and the issue is still apparent. It appears to be an issue only with the 340mm brakes for Golf Rs and Tiguans.

Cons: knocking sound, persistent issue
