It’ll stop rather promptly from those speeds, too, with the brakes resisting fade even under heavy track use and their effectiveness proving a very good demonstration of just how light the car is.

Pros: resisting fade, very effective

Rating 4.0

Made a few sensible tweaks to this car immediately, at like 300 miles (nothing heavy), one of which was Akebono pads. Third VW I've had these on; they're great -- about as close to zero dust as I think you can get, seem to work a bit better and last a bit longer than the OEM pieces.

Pros: zero dust, work better
Mileage: 300 km

The stopping power was already crazy good with just the fronts an I could feel it right away its already better, I can't wait till they are bedded in. As far as 4 piston brakes goes I think these are by far the cheapest an best option to go.

Pros: crazy good stopping power

Rating 4.5

Brakes were great, no fade issues(Hawk Ceramic 5.0 pads up front, stockers in the rear) running Motul RBF. Mixed conditions so I had a little of everything, rain, drying, damp. NO bias problems at all, no issues w/the ABS doing funky things. The car didn't want to throw itself off track or anything like that, even in the rain. Just very progressive feel. They put up with me having to trailbrake the crap out of this car so I figure they did ok.

Pros: Great performance, No fade issues, Very progressive feel
Part number: CERAMIC 5.0

STOPTECH Brake pads

Some mk6's have the 272mm rotors and some have the 253mm. I found out the hard way when I ordered the standard Stoptech Street Performance pads. Had to reorder.

Cons: had to reorder
Part number: 309.03400

EBC Brake pads

The negatives with EBC Yellow stuff is that they produce a HUGE amount of dust, and eat through rotors quickly. I had them on my wifes CX-9 with a set of their drilled and slotted rotors, they were horrible! The rotors had a vibration at anything over 45mph, and the dust they created was ridiculous.

Cons: huge amount of dust, eat rotors
