Replaced with a pair of Bosch ones that fit perfectly and operate silently.

I run the Bosch replacements (not Icons) that use the button mount as factory not an adaptor. They're great, swap 'em yearly in the cold states.

Went with Bosh double platinum plugs at 60,000km when I notice a stumble at idle and that's the interval for change. I instantly went from best of 9.6L/100km to 7.8L/100km big difference in performance and smoothness and i prefer a German plug in a German car with Bosch electronics.

Anyway, i decided to splurge on the icons and am liking them so far but need to see how long they last.

Tried a couple RainX series and gave up and settled on Icons. $50 + tax in US and they are awesome.

In your case I would say just buy a new replacement alt from a name brand like Delco Remy or Bosch, none of this parts store rebuilt junk, you'll just be doing the job over again soon.

Bosch, Valeo, or Denso would be my top choices. Don't get a Chinese one. Shit won't last at all.

I'm still not entirely convinced that it is weak or under ignition versus over fueling. Either way it just seems like it's having a hard time burning the fuel that it is getting. I still can't help but wonder about the Bosch Platinum 2s. I have had good luck with them before my Mark 2 GTI and the car did run well with them for a good 10 days before all of this started.

I picked out the nicest Bosch ones AutoZone had last time, but they weren't really that good.

Overpriced and lasted less than 1 year. Replaced with Michelin wipers from Costco for $6.00 and they’re better then these Bosch wipers
