Those are absolutely amazing tires because they grip so well in the winter plus they handle like sporty high performance tires on winding mountain roads.
The previous owners kept the brakes flushed and the oil changed right on schedule. It had a water pump at replaced at 70k, spark plugs at 60k(getting time for that again), and the normal 80k service with the rear end inspected and new fluid. It has some Michelin Pilots with most of the tread left.
I like the Michelin defenders, pretty good in all elements and lasts about 70k.
Folks liked those Michelins very much, generally.
My pilot all season 4 tires have a 540 treadwear and I got about 20k on the rears.
I just swapped my original Conti's out for Michelin Pilot Sport AS4's (225/45ZR18). Ride is quieter than the Conti's, and grip seems better, too...but that may be due to new tires vs mileage on the old ones.
The CC2s are fantastic, I don’t think I actually lost much range with them more than I fitted them when it was colder. Snow, ice, rain they are amazing. Never had an issue with grip. Only reason I’ll go back to the sports is longevity at higher temps and deluging rain grip.
I have them and so far very happy with the purchase. I use them for every day driving there’s been no big impact on range or road noise.
Bought a set of Bridgestone RE-71Rs. Fifth car (current STI): First set (besides factory tires) was Michelin Pilot Super Sports - not bad, but I missed the outright grip of the Bridgestone's- wore them down to the cords after 25k miles and a couple of track days.
I agree, i see more michelin tires with sidewalls cracking than other brands. Most of these tires have 50% tread left too and are usually pretty old 5+ years
