I’ve had the same experiences with my pilot sport 4 AS. I’m at 41,000 miles and still going strong. I estimate I will get another 5 to 10,000 out of them. It’s really only the back tires that will need replacement. The front tires still appear to have most of their tread. The Michelin’s are incredible tires!

Pros: going strong, incredible tires
Mileage: 41000 km

Sounds like you need better snow tires. Or you need to learn to drive in the snow. I did just fine in Houghton with an NA Miata on Michelin X-Ices, and in a low slung FWD Volvo C30 on Vredestein Wintrac Pros.

Pros: good performance in snow
Vehicle: Mazda

CrossClimate2 is the golden standard of all-weather tires. You can't go wrong with this (other than the price).

Pros: golden standard, all-weather
Cons: price can be high

Crossclimate 2 tires are still the best performing all weather/all season tires in the snow. I advised my dad to buy a pair and he is extremely happy with that decision. He is driving a 2017 mazda 3.

Pros: extremely happy with decision
Vehicle: Mazda 3

CrossClimates are good in winter but take a penalty in MPG & noise because of that benefit (the 2 biggest complaints in reviews).

Pros: good in winter
Cons: MPG and noise penalty

My personal experience: Michelin defender 100.000 miles warranty. Worn to ZERO profile after 35.000 miles. NEVER MORE!

Cons: worn after 35000 miles
Mileage: 56327 km
