Update after driving to, on and back from the track - The grip is much greater than stock Hankooks, was a wet day but I still found the grip to be quite impressive. The brakes stayed cool without any signs of fade or losing brake feel.
I went with the Continental DSW06's on my WRX. Think I got them at Discount Tires for like $840. Absolutely fantastic tires and I might be putting them on my prelude next.
I got Continental UltimateContacts from Can Tire, in 195/65/r15. The ride isn't really any better cause of the added weight but traction wise that have been amazing
Really liking my Falken Aklimates. I have had them about 9 months....summer/fall/rochester ny winter/ and a very wet spring. I got stuck in gnarly northern Kentucky tornado storms a week ago...super safe and planted in sketchy standing water situations surrounded by big rigs...these tires are so well balanced in Every condition. Def sticky enough for pushing it in twisties and carving big off-ramps and spirited city freeway missions. Getting 36+ mpg and I drive like a 16 yo more than I would like to admit.
Track setup installed! EBC Blue rear, IS2500 front, RS3 brake ducts, 18x9 +42 Superspeed Wheels with Falken Azenis RT615K+. Its flush af! And yes, Even though its a 200tw hard sidewall high noise tire, the ride is so much better than stock OEMs
Got an old Golf 4 which I inherited from my grandparents and I only use it like 1/2 times a week.
It got Continental winter tires on it from 2011. Thread is like new and no cracks. Drove thru snow with it, heavy rain and heat. Tires are not showing any signs of being bad. It's like driving on rails with it, very impressive performance from Continental.
Wildpeaks replaced my BFG K02s. I’ve got about 15k miles on mine so far and like them much more than the BFGs. Wildpeaks were very noticeably quieter than BFGs, but it does seem that road noise above 60mph has increased a bit as the tires aged. Not sure why that is. Wildpeaks seem to have better wet and snow traction as well.
Got mine in September of 2024. I drive on trails for my job and they have been amazing. In areas where I needed 4x4 with old set of wranglers I drive right through without 4x4 in the wild peaks. Very quiet on highway and handle amazing in the rain. So far very happy!
I have 275 AT4 on my 22, they look awesome and rub at full loco reverse driver side only after trimming. What I don’t like about them is they wobble at 50-60 until they warm up. I’ve had them balanced 3 times and it just is what it is at this point. I like them a lot otherwise m
The Falken tires they roll out of the factory suck, Falken as a brand in general isn’t bad. I went from Falken ZX-somethings to Falken Wildpeaks on my Crosstrek and it’s night and day.
