Tires Continental or Maxxis

Continental Tires

I got 32k miles out of my OEM Continentals - I could have pushed them for another 5K miles (I’m in the desert so no snow and limited rain). That’s good enough for me, so I got another set about a week ago.

Pros: good mileage
Mileage: 51500 km

Maxxis Tires

Rekon for the rear - Forecaster for the front. Super light - super fast - and good for all scenarios other than wet mud.

Pros: super light, super fast
Cons: other than wet mud

Continental Tires

I have carbon wheels and ride very rocky trails 6-8 hours/week. I use Kryptotal Fr and Kryptotal Re, both in enduro soft, and I don't use inserts. They are great tires. Excellent grip, fast rolling.

Pros: excellent grip, fast rolling

My favorite trail bike combo right now is a DHR2 front and dissector rear but I’m considering switching to rekon rear.

I just bought these for my Y - time will tell. The continentals that were on here and didn’t wear so well. They were shot…. Hopefully I get a little more mileage out of these

Pros: more mileage hopefully
Cons: didn’t wear so well

Continental Tires

Replaced mine at 19k. I live in Oregon and want good tread and channels on the rainy roads. Dealership offered to sell me the same tire. I laughed and got Continentals elsewhere. Much better.

Pros: much better
Cons: horrible tires
Mileage: 19000 km
