Tires Continental or Goodyear

Goodyear Tires

I have Goodyear Eagle F1s on the front and mid range on the back, being front wheel drive the back doesn’t really do much other than follow.

Pros: good front wheel grip

When I was driving (passengers at the time) full time & doing a ton of miles (around 1000-1200 miles per week), I would get the Goodyear Viva's from Walmart. They were like $~80 a piece and lasted me well, I'd get around 45k out of them and I believe they were rated for 60k.

Pros: lasted well, rated 60k
Mileage: 72420 km

I got Meineke to repair my stock model Y tire before and it held up nicely, after I replaced both of my Teslas with Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus and I haven’t look back, no foam and you can’t even tell a difference in road and they are awesome for significantly less money per tire, plus they have indicators to tell when to replace for Dry, Wet and Snow conditions. Will only use these tires moving forward on my vehicles.

Pros: awesome, less money per tire

I’ve had two flats in my Model Y factory all seasons (Goodyear Eagle F1s with the foam). Local tire shop was able to pull the foam back, patch and put the foam back. $39 each time.

Pros: foam can be patched

I live in Bucharest, the amount of glass shards on the road is shattering. I switched from Conti SportContact (4 flats/week on average) to DTH, inflated to 5 bars, no flats yet in about half a year. I find them very comfy on both asphalt and forest roads.

Pros: very comfy on roads
Cons: switched from Conti

I had this same model on my prior VAG vehicle (in 245/40R19) and pretty typical for OEM tires: smooth ride, reasonably quiet, handles ok (both dry & wet), and can cope with an early- or late-season light snow when you're caught unexpectedly w/o your winter or all-weather tires.

Pros: smooth ride, reasonably quiet
Cons: handles ok
Vehicle: Audi A6 allroad
Mileage: 5000 km

Goodyear Tires

We had Goodyear assurance all seasons on our Toyota sienna and they were replaced under warranty with only 22k miles on them. When they were new they were great but they wore quickly and wet traction was an issue towards the end.

Pros: great when new
Cons: wore quickly, wet traction issue
Mileage: 22000 km
