Tires Continental or DUNLOP

Continental Tires

Too bad you don't have 16s, then you could buy the Continental DWSs(205/50/16s on mine) for the ultimate upgrade in rainy day tire. I spent 45 minutes on Saturday chucking my car actively trying to get it to slip and slide in the rain on mountain road bends and it just wouldn't let go.

Pros: ultimate upgrade, great grip

I replaced the Dunlops with a set of Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02s with a bit higher treadwear rating, so hopefully they last much longer with the alignment being fixed.

Pros: higher treadwear rating
Vehicle: Subaru

I’ve ran both the Continentals and Yokohamas. General is owned by continental and make mid tier tires(continental would high tier in this case)

For your tire size, I’d take continental. The DWS06 is an amazing tire and well worth the price. Ran it on my 2017 Focus ST all winter long in the Portland area and they handled great!

Currently have them on my 2006 Acura TSX in south Cali and same thing. Good ride comfort, handling, and grippy around the corners.

Pros: Good ride comfort, grippy
Vehicle: Acura TSX

got the Continental DWS06plus, so far they’ve been exceptional in the wet weather. Also, quieter than the uniroyal tiger paws.

Pros: exceptional in wet weather
Cons: quieter than uniroyal

I drove them through 3 winters and did pretty ok. Took them off at 30K because they were screaming around corners every time I turned and it was annoying. They had lost their good traction properties in wet conditions by that time anyways.

Pros: did pretty ok
Cons: screaming around corners
Mileage: 30000 km

Which slick do you have exactly? I ran the d212 medium and endurance. Absolutely hated them. The medium got destroyed in one day. Started losing grip after 3 sessions already. Then I tried the endurance compound, but it also lasted only 2 days and kept losing grip. Apparently they are very sensitive to pressure, temperature and shock settings.

Cons: losing grip, sensitive
