Tires Continental or ADVAN

Continental Tires

Four years ago I bought a set of continental contipro contacts for my E90. $1200. They are still in good shape with plenty of tread. More than 50%.

Pros: good shape, plenty of tread
Vehicle: BMW

Continental VikingContact 7s are my recommendation. I get an average of 4m of snow, where I live, every winter, and these tires have never let me down. And they're incredibly refined at highway speeds.

Pros: never let me down

I run 18” on my ‘24. Pirelli Sottozero 3 on Pretoria wheels. We have Continental VikingContact on our ‘24 Alltrack. Both great set of winter wheels for Canadian winters.

Pros: great set of wheels
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I had 225/40 R18 on mine last Winter and had no issues with it. Tires were Conti's WinterContact TS870. I was very happy with those tires. We got some pretty sewere snow last year and my R pushed through like nothing.

Pros: very happy with tires
Cons: none

We got conti vikingcontact 7. They've been fantastic. They were much cheaper than the Michelin's which I hear mixed reviews of.

No change in noise vs stock tires, feel like more lateral grip. We average only 1kwh/100km more on the winters vs all seasons (but it was also much colder when they were on for so I don't think they lost much efficiency).

Pros: more lateral grip, fantastic
Cons: mixed Michelin reviews

Continental Tires

I was a loyal GP4000/5000 rider but had to switch a few years back. I think they changed something and it not only became harder to mount them, but it was impossible to break the bead and remove them. I switched to Vittorias but really miss the feel of the GPs. I feel much more confident descending on them.

Pros: confident descending
Cons: harder to mount, impossible remove

Continental Tires

Switched from Continental Der Baron 2.6" to Dhf/Dhr (3c maxxterra) 2.8" combo. DHR has less grip on uphill and roots, which is really annoying after expecting something great, because everyone loves these tyres...

Cons: less grip on uphill
