NGK Spark plug

Honestly I think NGK plugs are better. Either one does the same thing, but I've never heard of a bad NGK plug, even well beyond its normal useful life.

Pros: better, never heard bad

OEM Subaru Spark plug

Rating 5.0

Changing my sparkplugs for the first time (32k miles, yes it's early but I got a great deal on the plugs) and found that the stock plug in cylinder 4 actually had a ground electrode defect and was significantly thicker than normal. The car runs stronger than it ever has as this was likely causing extra timing pull.

Pros: car runs stronger
Cons: ground electrode defect
Vehicle: Subaru
Mileage: 51500 km

Those spark plugs are junk, and on top of that, they are now carbon fouled. I would strongly encourage you to install new, normal, spark plugs.

Cons: spark plugs are junk
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I’ve kept to stock plugs with stage 1. I tried the recommended “colder” plugs and they failed in less than 10k miles.

Cons: failed in less than 10k
Mileage: 10000 km
