This just happened to me last month on my 2017 C43 on the OEM battery. I guess five years is typical on these newer MB.

I've had good luck with Bosch (made by Varta iirc) and Yuasa.

Varta is pretty good

When I needed a new battery for my Golf mk6, they were the cheapest and I had peace of mind because I was given the OEM approved brand.

Just replaced this battery in my Leon. Got the Bosch 096 agm for £127 from Tayna batteries on eBay.

The original Varta battery lasted 11 years and still worked but began showing signs it needed replacing.

Halfords stock Yuasa which I've never had a problem with

Change it when it can no longer meat a battery test to spec, which has good margin before it starts causing issues, like freaked out ECU or hard starting.

I've had this error on my own SR/F back in 2019 and they tried to fix it twice. Once at Zero HQ (NL) and the second time at my dealer. I think it was OK after that second attempt. But this and some other issues made me sell it and get an Energica instead.

I went through 3 red tops within 2 years because of bad cells.

Some of these OEM batteries they choose to use are shit.
