58 years old, been using Fram oil filters since the beginning. My auto oil filters have always been Fram or Puralator, and haven't had an engine failure yet. Not 20 years ago, not 2 years ago. Change them every 3000-5000 miles and you'll be good.
I've run all my cars exclusively with Fram filters and Quaker State full synthetic oil, and have not gotten rid of one under 225k miles.
I ignore the Car Bros and continue to use house-branded Fram filters.
I used a fram filter for the first time on a recent oil change, synthetic endurance + kirkland 0w20. no issues so far.
The regular cheapo orange Fram filters are downright awful, but their Synthetic line of filters actually rate quite well in testing. I have no problem using the Synthetic Endurance filters in my cars.
Last time I tried fram the filter collapsed and blew my oil cooler seals in under 1500mi
Ac delco/delphi quality has been getting really bad. There’s a cheaper line of products that are all Chinese and then a higher level. I stopped using their oil filters when the threads were completely off for my 3800.
Avoid Fram oil filters, they fit the housing but are very loose
I changed the oil with an AC Delco PF66 filter. Turned on the car and it instantly started spewing oil. Immediately turned it off. Oil sprayed through the cracks in front grill/bumper panel on passenger side.
IMO. There are no "good" Fram filters. I grant you Fram is better than a screen door for filtering oil but I'd only put on in the car of someone I hated. Look around YouTube for Fram vs Mann filters. The construction and quality of Fram is a joke in comparison to real filters.
