On an LS motor, IIRC, it's a rather easy DIY job, if you buy one outside the dealer you may be able to buy one cheaper but get a good quality one, like an AC Delco which is OEM.

Pros: good quality, cheaper price

I would get a Denso or AcDelco reman, no cheap crap since they're a bit of a pain to replace.

I would rather do it once and have it last for 100k+ than to do that repair 2x.

Pros: last for 100k+

Cons: pain to replace

GERMAN AUTO PARTS got me a brand new Valeo starter for $200....just fyi for anyone who needs to buy a starter.

Pros: new Valeo starter

Cons: potential starter issue
